It was revealed to our news team that due to a reduction in the number of employees and designations in the Colombo Muncipal Council, the administration activities of the council have been hindered.

Upon inquiry by our news team, deputy mayor Titus Perera stated that the decision was taken by the Western Provincial Council.

The approximately 12,000 employees of the Colombo Municipal Council have vehemently protested against this decision.

However, Deputy Mayor Titus Perera stated that a special general meeting has been scheduled on the 5th of February to discuss the matter.
