Three police officers have sustained injuries while attempting to raid a group of individuals who had been engaging in illegal sand mining.

 

A group of police officers who had attempted to raid the illegal sand miners adjacent to the Kapugoda Jetty in Kahatapitiya-Kosgama had been assaulted.

 

According to the Police Media Unit the officers attached to the Kosgama police who had sustained injuries in the incident have been admitted to the Avissawella hospital.

 

Seven suspects connected to the incident have been arrested at present.
