Visiting UK Minister Alistair Burt who delivered a guest lecture at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute for International Relations and Strategic Studies yesterday

has urged the Sri Lankan government to invite UN High Commissioner of Human Rights Navaneethan Pillai to visit the island.

 

Delivering his oration at the Lakshman Kadiragarmer Institute yesterday Burt stressed that transparency between all parties was the only way to foster understanding.

 

Accordingly he had also noted that Sri Lanka should take steps to further extend this investigation to other UN rapporteurs as well.
