Opposition leader supports for the conference.

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe says that the Summit held according to the Commonwealth principles will have his support.


The Opposition Leader said so when he met Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma last afternoon.


However on this occasion the Opposition Leader pointed out that if the Government resorts to unnecessary expenditure and activities causing hardships to people, he would oppose it.


On this occasion Secretary General Kamalesh Sharmaa said that he was grateful for the support the UNP and former leaders had given from the inception of the Commonwealth and that he hoped that the same contribution would be forthcoming in the future as well.
