Geneva team to be named next week

The Ministry of External Affairs states that the team due to head to Geneva in order to participate at the 22nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council Session would be named next week.


Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Karunathilleke Amunugama expressing his views in this regard noted that Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ravinatha Aryasinghe has been appointed to look into the required preparatory activities.


The 22nd session of the United Nations Human Right's Council Session is due to be held in Geneva, commencing from the 25th of this month until the 22nd of March.


When inquired from President's Special Human Rights Envoy Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe in this regard he noted that he had not received any official notification in this regard.
