Religious co-existence strengthens progress; President

President Mahinda Rajapakse states that the religious co-existence that has developed in the country strengthens progress.


The president stated that it is commendable that while the Muslims in the East are building temples, the Sinhalese in the South are constructing kovils.


President Rajapakse made these statements while taking part in the ceremony to inaugurate the newly constructed premises of worship in the Gonapola – Olaboduwa Sri Jayawardenarama temple.


He further stated that it is the responsibility of everyone to safeguard religious coexistence of the country.
