The three suspects who were arrested in connection to the acid attack which was launched on the Commissioner of Indigenous Medicine in the North Central Province have been placed under further custody until the 15th of this month.

 

This was after the case in this regard was taken up before Anuradhapura Additional Magistrate Chandima Edirimanna today.

 

The Commissioner of Indigenous Medicine in the North Central Province continues to receive treatment at the Colombo eye hospital subsequent to the acid attack launched on him.

 

According to the Director of the Eye Hospital Dr. Sisira Liyanage eye surgeons are engaged in a desperate attempt to salvage the eye of the victim.
