Indian government guarantees the safety of all Buddhist religious places in India.

The ministry of external affairs state that the Indian government has guaranteed the safety of all Buddhist religious places and Sri Lankan business institutions that are situated in India.

A group of individuals had broken into and destroyed property of the Mihin Lanka office situated in Madurei of Tamil Nadu.

During the course of the investigation it has been revealed that it was LTTE sympathizers that had carried out the attack.

Following the attack, the Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs requested the Indian Government to provide complete protection to all sacred Buddhist sites and Sri Lankan business institutions.

The ministry of external affairs also instructed the Sri Lankan deputy high commission in India to provide a report regarding the attack.
