President Mahinda Rajapaksa who left the island for a four day tour of Japan this morning has arrived at the Haneda airport in Tokyo.
The President had been received by Japan’s Parliamentary vice Minister Minoru Kiuchi, & the islands ambassador to Japan Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda.
The President as part of his itinerary is due to meet with Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe & is due to pay a courtesy call on Japanese emperor Akihitho.
President Rajapakse is also due to take part in a banquet hosted at the emperors palace in Japan.
President Rajapaksa is also due to meet former Japanese Special Envoy to Sri Lanka Yashushi Akashi.
