Government engaged in tax rip-off says UNP

The United National Party states that the government should apologize to the public.


General Secretary of the UNP MP Thissa Aththanayek expressing his views in this regard noted that the government was levying taxes from the public devoid of obtaining approval on parliamentary acts.


Meanwhile the expressing views on behalf of the JVP, Politburo member of the party MP Anura Kumara Dissanayke noted that if the government fails to obtain approval for 21 acts presented before parliament prior to the end of the month, taxes levied from the public would be deemed as unlawful.


Dissanayeke noted that the government under these circumstances was desperately attempting to obtain approval for these acts.




Moreover General Secretary of the UNP MP Thissa Aththanayeke also expressed the following views in this regard.




Chief government Whip Minister Dinesh Gunawardhana expressed these views with regards to the allegations leveled by the opposition as a whole.
