45 persons attempting to illegally migrate to Australia were apprehended this morning in Marawila – Kuda-madu-walle area.

Marawila police stated that they were apprehended while on their way to Marawila - Kuda-madu-walle coastal belt on a bus and a van.

Police further stated that 34 men, 5 women and 6 children were among the group.

They are residents of Kyts, Jaffna, Vavuniya and Ampara.
