The UNP states that the reason a proposal was presented against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC session in Geneva is due to the government not keeping the promises it made to the international community.

UNP parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella made this statement while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this morning.

Meanwhile, speaking to the Al Jazeera network via video conference the permanent Sri Lankan representative to the UN Doctor Palitha Kohona stated that time is required for the success of the internal investigative mechanisms.
