The UNP states that the reason a proposal was presented against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC session in Geneva was due to the actions of the government.

UNP parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella made this statement while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this morning.

He further stated that it is important for Sri Lanka to maintain cordial ties with neighboring countries.

However, the JHU, which is a part of the government, stated that India is responsible for the problems faced by Sri Lanka.

Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo today, Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dalas Allahapperuma stated that India is not an enemy of Sri Lanka.

The minister also stated that various parties who wish to create clashes within Sri Lanka are making various statements and are trying to create a rift with India.
