Muslim Congress decides to support government further during its Supreme Council Meeting

The Supreme Council of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress convened yesterday in order to discuss the prevalent situation.

According to the National Organizer of the SLMC former parliamentarian Rafeek Rajabdeen several senior party figures including leader of the SLMC Rauff Hakeem had been present during the meeting.

He noted that yesterday’s meeting had been convened taking into consideration the concerns of the individuals in the East.

However Rajabdeen noted that despite attempts to create sectarian tensions by certain parties the SLMC would continue to assist the government.
