Opposition leader to India

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe is scheduled to leave this forenoon for India on an official tour.


The Opposition Leader’s office sources said that during this tour the Opposition Leader would hold bilateral talks with Indian President Pranaab Mukerji.


In addition the Opposition Leader will hold discussions with top Indian Government and Opposition representatives.


The Opposition Leader is also the first top level politician touring India after India voted against Sri Lanka at the Geneva UNHRC session.


Indian Reports say further that the Opposition Leader’s Indian tour will be very significant in the current context with a background opposed to Sri Lanka created in Tamil Nadu.
