Sri Lankan's in South Korea not informed regarding North's warning

All Sri Lankans in South Korea have been instructed to register themselves at the Sri Lankan embassy in the country subsequent to a fresh warning which has been issued to foreign nationals in the country by the restive North.


Nearly 20,000 to 25,000 Sri Lankan migrant workers are currently employed in South Korea with most serving in areas adjacent to the South’s border.


However when contacted by our news team several Sri Lankans employed in South Korea added that they had not been made aware regarding such a development on an official basis.


When contacted Director General of Public Affairs at the Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs Rodni Pererara had this to say.
