Route licenses of special New Year buses will be revoked if over charged

Thursday, 11 April 2013 - 13:02

The National Transportation Commission states that it will not allow transportation services to levy tariffs greater than approved tariffs while providing special transport services during the Sinhala and Hindu New Year.

Thus for normal bus services normal tariffs will apply and for semi luxury bus services one and half times the normal tariff will apply and for luxury bus services twice the normal tariff rate will apply.

For super luxury bus services thrice the normal tariff rates will apply.

Chairman of the NTC Roshan Gunawardena stated that steps will be taken to cancel the route licenses of buses that violate these tariff rates.
