A new programme from the police for protecting tourists.

The police is getting ready to implement a special programme for the safety of tourists coming to Sri Lanka.


Police Media Spokesman SP Buddhika Siriwardene said that accordingly this programme would be implemented jointly by Tourist Hotels and Police Stations.


With the help of owners of Tourist Hotels as well, the OIC’s of police stations should collect information about foreigners staying in Tourist Hotels situated within the jurisdiction of their police stations.


The police media spokesman said that subsequently while the OIC’s of police stations should keep with them a report containing this information it would be possible to provide necessary information when required.
