The fast that employees of the Kahatagaha Coal Mine situated at Gokarella in Kurunegala had launched, continues.

About 70 Coal Mine employees began a fast yesterday one thousand feet underground.

Since they did not receive any response to their demands yesterday, the employees engage in the fast today descending another one thousand feet inside the mine.

These employees launched the fast requesting that a solution be given to five demands including New Year bonus allowance already given and making of their appointments permanent.

Several mine employees engaged in the fast came to the top of the mine and expressed their views to our news team as follows
