Kahatagaha graphite mine fast called off

The hunger strike that was launched by by employees attached to the Kahatagaha graphite mine located in Gokarella-Kurunegala has been called off.


This was following discussions that were held between the protesters and the committee comprising a 5 member panel which was headed by secretary to the ministry of Trade & Commerce Anura Siriwardhana


The employees have assured to report to work tomorrow.


45 employees were engaged in the fast over 5 demands at a depth of 1,132 feet.
