Fast at Kahatagaha mine continues; Ministry appoints committee to resolve issue

The Ministry of Industry & Commerce has decided to appoint a special committee aimed at resolving the hunger strike launched by employees attached to the Kahatagaha graphite mine located in Gokarella-Kurunegala.


This was subsequent to a meeting which was held at the ministry premises today under the patronage of subject minister Rishard Bathiyutheen.


The committee comprising a 5 member panel will be headed by secretary to the ministry of Trade & Commerce Anura Siriwardhana.


According to ministry sources the committee has already reached the mine premises.
