Illegal constructions on state owned property by government institutions; President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa states that illegal constructions have been erected on state owned properties by government institutions.


The President who presided over the progress review meeting of the Department of Irrigation & Water resource Management today noted that the required action against such offenders would be taken immediately, closely followed by investigations.




President Rajapaksa also inquired into the plight of former employees of the River Valleys Development Board in the Rathnapura district who had lost their occupations due to the decommissioning of the board.


Minister of Irrigation & Water Resources Management Nimal Siripala De Silva speaking here responded to the presidents queries.
