Sama Samaja Party also writes to Government regarding electricity

The Lanka Sama Samaja Party which is a part of the Government is stating that the increase in electricity tariffs has put the public into difficulty.


The current leader of the party Senior Minister Thissa Witharana is preparing to present an epistle to the president in this regard and he stated that he will request for a discussion at the next cabinet meeting.


Another leftist leader representing the government Minister Wasudewa Nanayakkara, also wrote to the president with regard to the increased electricity tariffs.

Meanwhile, a candle light protest organized by the UNP against the increased electricity tariffs was held in Matara yesterday.
