Australian Minister of Immigration and Citizenship hails measures taken by Sri Lanka

Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Brendan O’Connor who is now in Sri Lanka lauded the measures being taken to prevent illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka to Australia.




He stated that the implementation of the recommendations of the LLRC would stand Sri Lanka in good stead




Minister for Immigration and Citizenship of Australia Brendan O’Connor met the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage at the Naval Headquarters yesterday.


Navy website stated that Australia and Sri Lanka had discussions about strengthening ongoing bilateral cooperation on people smuggling.
