The All Island Private Bus Companies Federation states that it has decided to lend its assistance to the planned trade union action on the 21st of this month which is being launched against the electricity tariff hike.

 

Secretary of the AIPBCF Anajana Priyanjith noted that this decision was reached subsequent to a discussion which was held with the Joint Trade Union Alliance.

However when inquired from Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gamunu Wijerathna he added that a final decision had not been reached.

 

Meanwhile, the all island transport services union has rendered its support.

 

Secretary of the union Sepala Liyanage stated that a decision will be reached during its executive committee meeting.

Meanwhile the Teachers & Principals Combined Trade Union accuses the government of waging psychological war fare by intimidating them.

 

Addressing a media briefing which was held in Colombo today General Secretary of the Lanka Teacher Services Union Mahinda Jayasinghe expressed the following views.
