Eat insects; UN solution to food scarcity.

The Food and Agricultural Organization stated that eating certain insects would give high intake of protein to the human body.


In a report on ‘Eatable Insects’ which is prepared by the FAO to enlighten the world on future food security, it says that taking insects as food would be a solution to future world food crisis.


Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization Dr. Eva Muller stated that about 1900 insects have currently been identified edible, and eating them could be environmental friendly effort as well.


About 2 billion people or 1 third of world population especially in China, several countries in South Africa and Latin America currently eat certain insects as food.
