6 district face disaster risk

The Department of Meteorology states that incessant showers may be experienced in the western, southern, Sabaragamuwa, Uwa & Eastern provinces of  the country due to inter monsoonal conditions coming into effect.


As a result most areas are forecast to experience a rainfall exceeding 100mm’s.


Duty meteorologist Channa Rodrigo said the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces were likely to be effected.




Meanwhile the National Disaster Management Centre states during the next 24 hours 6 districts in the country may experience rockslides, earth slips & landslides.
