No parking fees from private building car parks in Western Province

Wednesday, 22 May 2013 - 13:09

Western Provincial Council Acting Chief Minister Jagath Angage said that his ministry will issue a circular ordering the Car Parkings of Private Buildings in the Western Province to stop charging parking fees.

Accordingly, vehicle parking at Private hospitals, supermarkets and such other buildings cannot charge parking fees from their customers.

Western Provincial Council passed a special private proposal preventing private buildings charging car fees from their customers recently.

UNP Provincial Council Member Niroshan Padukke who brought this proposal had this to say.

Although our news team attempted to contact Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga to verify this decision, our attempt was failed as the chief minister was gone abroad.
