The "public movement against increased electricity tariffs" today stated that a public protest will be initiated in the coming two weeks against the increased electricity tariffs.


Speaking at the Cabinet Decisions Press Briefing Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage stated that yesterday’s strike showed that the public was not with the Opposition.


The following are the views expressed with regard to the increased electricity tariffs by member of the public movement against increased electricity tariffs Saman Ratnapriya, Ministers Rohitha Abeygunawardena and Mahindananda Aluthgamamge and the co convener of the Co-ordination Committee for the Trade Union Alliance K. D. Lal Kantha.
