UNP proposes constitutional court - COPE committee to be vested with more powers

General Secretary of the United National Party MP Thissa Aththanayeke states that the party has proposed the establishment of a constitutional court through the draft constitutional bill is being prepared by the party.


Addressing a media briefing which was held today MP Thissa Aththnayeke noted that a mechanism would be adopted through the draft constitution where parliament would be vested with the power of enacting the recommendations of the COPE committee.
