NFF unclear regarding government's stance on 13th amendment

The Supreme Court today decided to take the arbitration of the Special Provisions Draft Bill for court consideration on the 04th of next month.


This decision comes in the backdrop where the government has decided to include the names of displaced persons in the North, in the voters’ name list.


Accordingly Cabinet granted the ‘go ahead’ to proceed with the amendment of the Voter Registration Special Provisions Act and the revised Act is due to be presented before parliament soon.


Meanwhile during a media briefing held in Colombo today, NFF polit bureau member Piyasiri Wijenayaka said that he was unaware of the SLFP stand on the Provincial Council system.


He further said that certain elements who failed to separate the North by waging a war are now trying to achieve the same goal in the name of an election.


Moreover Former JVP MP K.D. Lal Kantha also opined on the provincial council system.
