Copies of the draft of the 'media ethics' bill given to all political parties

Minister of Media Keheliya Rambukwella states all political parties have been provided with copies of the draft of the ‘media ethics’ bill in order to study it, prior to its presentation before  parliament.

He further said that the bill would incorporate suggestions and proposals from all political parties prior to its presentation which would be done based on a consensus.


However Convener of the Free Media Movement Sunil Jayasekara states that if the government does not obtain the views of the media community in this regard, they would protest against the draft bill.
