The debate on the draft special provisions Act for registration of voters was held in parliament yesterday.


External affairs Minister Professor G L Peris explained the importance of the bill.




However, the opposition opposed the bill.


UNP MP P Harrison opposed the bill during his speech and Justice Minister Rauf Hakeem and leader of the House Minister Nimal Siri Pala desilva responded in the following manner.
