300 civil defence force personnel to eradicate dengue in Colombo University

Ministry of Defense will implement dengue eliminating programs in 38 schools and 2 universities in the Colombo district tomorrow.


Defence Ministry Additional Secretary Damayanthi Jayaratne told our news team that 300 civil defense forces will be deployed to the 2 universities itself.




Director of the Entomology Unit of the Health Ministry Dr. Paba Palihavadana said that 500 dengue cases are reported weekly, and it indicates the disease has been developed into an epidemic.




Meanwhile the funeral of the Colombo University law faculty student who died of dengue was held at her village in Debathgama in the heart of Kegalle district.
