Navy and Air Force rescue 7 fisherman in rescue operations

Spokespersons for the Navy and Air Force state that 7 fishermen who were in distress due to inclement weather have been rescued so far.


Naval media spokesperson Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya stated that the Navy rescued 2 fishermen and a commercial vessel managed to rescue 2 more fishermen.


Meanwhile, Air Force Media Spokesperson Air Commodore Andy Wijesuriya stated that the Air Force rescued 2 fishermen off the coast of Dehiwala – Colombo and one fisherman off the coast of Beruwala.


Speaking further the Air Commodore also stated that the Air Force is currently engaged in an attempt to rescue 6 fishermen stranded in a boat off the coast of Ratmalana.
