Former Homagama district Judge was released on a 10 million rupee bail short while ago.


The case against former district Judge Sunil Abeysinghe who has allegedly obtained a bribe of 300 thousand rupees from a woman to give a biased judgment was taken before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today.


Meanwhile, Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered Prison Officials today not to bring any suspect to his official residence in the future without his permission.


He gave this warning after the Prison Officials took the former District Judge of Homagama Sunil Abeysinghe, who is now in remand, to the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s official residence.


At the opening of the case, the Chief Magistrate inquired the prison officials why did they bring the suspected District Judge to his official residence without obtaining his permission.
