The trade union federation of the teachers’ and principals has decided to stage an island-wide agitation from tomorrow protesting against making a Navagattegama Navodyaa Maha Vidyalaya teacher to kneel down.

UPFA North Western Provincial Councillor Ananda Sarath Kumara had made Navagattegama Navodyaa Maha Vidyaalaya Teacher H. H. Priyaani Susilaa Herath to kneel down last Friday.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has informed North Western PC member Ananda Sarath Kumara who was accused of forcing a female teacher to kneel down to resign from the North Western Provincial Council.

Meanwhile Puttalam District Judge Ranga Dissanayake remanded the accused till June 27th.

Teachers and Principals’ Trade Union federation convener Joseph Stalin expressing his views with regard to the series of agitations the federation is scheduled to stage, spoke to our news team as follows.
