Come back home; Minister G.L tells refugees

Minister of External Affairs Professor G.L. Peiris on behalf the Sri Lankan Government invited all Sri Lankan refugees those who reached Australia during the conflict to come back as the country has returned to normal.


Minister Professor Peiris is currently in Australia to discuss with Australian authorities about the measures that should be taken against the human traffickers.


After meetings with Australian External Minister Bobka, Defence Minister Stevan Smith and Emigration and Immigration Minister Brendon O corner, Professor Peries told Australian media that Sri Lanka has achieved 100 percent stability.


Describing the human trafficking racket Minister Peries said that the traffickers would only concern about earning a fast buck and never value the lives of the victims.


During the meeting with Professor Peiris, Australian authorities have stated that they would support the government decision to hold elections in the North. They have also reiterated that Australia will participate in the Commonwealth meeting in Colombo scheduled to be held in November.
