Law student Doctor remanded; Injured divisional head recovers.

The law graduate student who had attacked the Navala Open University law Division Head   Yashodharaa Kadiragaamarthambi in the University premises  with a sharp weapon causing her injury has been remanded till the second of next month.


The police media spokesman office said that this order was given after the arrested student concerned was produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate court



The  University Law Division Head Yashodharaa Kadirgaamarthambi was subjected to a surgery after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.


Responding to query by our news team a Colombo National Hospital spokesperson said that the patient continued to receive treatment at the Intensive Care Unit and that by now her condition was improving.


This stabbing by a student reading for the law degree at this University had carried out this stabbing of the Law Divisional Head  with a knife in front of the University Humanities Social Science Faculty  Reception last noon.


This law student is a 40 year old registered doctor named Shivagnanasundaram who got his medical degree from the Jaffna Universiy.
