3500 police officers deployed to Anuradhapura on behalf of Poson

A large number of Buddhist pilgrims are said to be arriving in Anuradhapura in view of Poson.


The police & navy meanwhile have jointly launched life saving operations in the reservoirs of Anuradhapura owing to their hazardous water levels.


According to Police Media Spokesperson SP Buddhika Siriwardhana 3500 police officers have been deployed to Anuradhapura to ensure the safety of the public.




Secretary of the Police Life Guard Brigade H.S. Chulasiri meanwhile expressed his views to our news team with regards to the arrangements underway in several sacred cities including Anuradhapura.
