President+Mahinda+Rajapaksa+also+joins+Hiru+Shraddhabhi-Vandana

 ‘Hiru Shraddha-bi-wandana’ organized jointly by Hiru TV & Hiru FM commenced yesterday at the historic Thooparama sacred grounds amidst the presence of a large number of Buddhist devotees.

 

The programme organized in lieu of Poson, was graced by President Mahinda Rajapaksa & First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.

 

The ‘Hiru Shraddha-bi-Wandana commenced yesterday under the patronage of

Chairman of the ABC Media Networks Rayynor Silva.

 

An all night pirith chanting ceremony which ended this morning was followed by

a seela vyapara & dhamma discussion.

 

A Buddha statue was subsequently placed at the sacred Thooparama sacred grounds this morning by Chairman of the ABC Media Networks Rayynor Silva to which floral tributes were paid.

 

Moreover several lay children were ordained today during the Hiru Shraddha-bi-wandana programme which was based on a concept of Chairman of the ABC Media Networks Rayynor Silva.

 

A special sponsorship programme titled Shasanawa-tharanaya was also introduced to sponsor the needs of these children who were ordained today, a faithful endeavor undertaken by Hiru TV & Hiru FM.

 

Meanwhile an adhishtana pooja hoping for the longevity of the Buddha Shashana is scheduled for this evening at the historic Thooparama sacred grounds.

 

As part of the event the Thooparama Chaithya would be adorned with floral decorations.
