The Health Ministry has decided to give an extra vaccine against measles to children between 6 – 12 months.
Health Services Director General Dr. Palitha Mahipala said that arrangements have been made to give the vaccine at all government clinics on the 5th of his month.
There was a tendency of increasing measles among the children between the age of 6 - 12 months during the last 5 months.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, Health Services Director General said that 525 patients were reported during the last 5 months.
