Teachers of Nawagaththegama Navodya school report sick

The teachers of the Nawagaththegama Navodya school has reported in sick today stating that the deputy principals of the school have violated their professional trust.


The teachers have reported to work this morning, but have informed the principal that they will be taking sick leave.


Speaking to our news team a teacher of the school stated that although all the teachers are still present inside the school premises they have refrained from engaging in teaching activities.


General Secretary of the Lanka Teachers Association, Joseph Stalin stated that if the two deputy principals are not transferred to another school trade union actions will continue.


Upon inquiry by our news team from the Puttalam Additional Zonal Educational Director Arjuna Parakrama, he stated that a report will be presented to the Zonal Educational Director regarding the steps to be taken against these two deputy principals.
