Local Government Chairmen of the SLFP summoned to Colombo

The Central Working Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has decided to summon the 275 chairmen representing the SLFP of local government institutions to Colombo on the 31st of this month.


The central working committee convened yesterday at the party headquarters yesterday afternoon, and the issues pertaining to local government ministers was discussed in depth.


General Secretary of the SLFP Minister Maithreepala Sirisena stated that attention was paid to steps that need to be taken regarding local government ministers who have various allegations leveled against them.


He further stated that the objective of this is to ensure that the reputation of the government is not tarnished and that such incidents do not take place in the future.


Accordingly, on the 31st of this month, the SLFP is preparing to summon all of them to Colombo and advice them and also to take a decision regarding those who have been accused of various misdeeds.


The meeting will be held under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapakse.
