A government that safeguards the country has emerged – says president

President Mahinda Rajapakse states that it is everyone’s duty to let go of hate driven politics and work together to serve the public.

The president further stated that a government that safeguards the country instead of politics that safeguard the government has emerged.

President Rajapakse made these statements while taking part in a function to hand over the new swimming pool in the Piliyandala Madya Maha Vidyalaya to its students yesterday.

President Rajapakse also declared open the two storey Junior Old Boys wing at the school.

Speaking further the president also stated that despite arguments and clashes people should not hate people and that a country cannot be developed through hatred.

President Rajapakse also reiterated that hatred should be removed from politics.

Meanwhile while taking part in the progress review meeting of the Water Supply and Drainage Ministry President Rajapakse instructed officials to not provide lethargic services based on documented facts.
