A clash erupted at the Naavula town last night between two candidates contesting for the Central Provincial Council election this time.

Navula police said that in the clash a vehicle belonging to former Provincial Councilor Pramitha Bandaara Thennakoon had been damaged.

Responding to a query by our news team the Naavula police said that complaints had been lodged by both factions.

Former Provincial Councillor Pramitha Bandaara told our news team that UPFA candidate and former Naavula Divisional Council Chairman Thilak Bandaara had threatened him when he was getting ready to return after participating in the discussion.

Former provincial councilor Pramitha Bandara is also the son of Land Minister Janaka Bandara Thennakoon.

Although our news team attempted to contact former Chairman of the Nawula Pradeshiya Saba on several occasions our attempts were futile.
