Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman Thilak Kollure resigned from the CPC chairman post.

CPC sources said that he handed over his letter of resignation to Minister in charge Anura Priyadarshana yesterday.

Meanwhile the CPC said that there won’t be a petrol shortage as a result of rejecting the stock of petrol imported from Singapore.

It was reported yesterday that 35 thousand metric tonnes of Octane 90 petrol ordered through the company ‘Petro China’ were rejected at specification tests.

While the said stock of fuel will be tested further according to internationally accepted methodologies, if it is not in accordance with scheduled specifications, the procurement procedure and the supply agreements will be rejected.

The CPC said further that the supply firm would be asked to provide a new stock of fuel in replacement for the said stock of fuel.
