The Parliamentary Select Committee to solve the National Issue has decided to convene on the 21st and 22nd and verbally question the public.

Secretary of the PSC deputy general secretary of the parliament Neel Iddalwala stated that the public will have the opportunity to write to the PSC regarding this till the 15th as well.

The president has appointed this PSC to recommend the political and constitutional steps that need to be taken to enable Sri Lankans to live as one race.

However, no opposition members are taking part in this PSC.

The PSC headed by Chairman Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva, convened on Wednesday and it was decided during that meeting to discuss on the 21st and 22nd regarding two proposals approved by the cabinet.

The cabinet and all provincial councils except the Eastern Provincial Council have granted approval for the two decisions which are to not allow two or more provincial councils to merge and to take decisions based on a majority agreement of provincial councils as opposed to needing the approval of all provincial councils.
