The National Transport Commission stated that relief measures would be provided to bus owners and bus companies to meet their service costs.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, President of the National Transport Commission Roshan Gunawardana said, relief would be given before the 15th of this month.

However President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijerathna told a press briefing in Colombo today that his Association would increase bus fares by 10% with effect from the 1st of September.

However, National Transport Commission Roshan Gunawardana reiterated that the sole right to revise bus fare is with the government.
