The incumbent of the Gal Oluwa Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya Teripehe Siridhamma Thera who staged a protest against the contamination of water in Weliweriya and a group of residents visited the UN office in Colombo today.

After handing over a petition to a representative of the UN Permanent Representative in Sri Lanka, Teripehe Siridhamma Thera expressed his views to the media.


Meanwhile the case in connection with the controversial glove factory at Rathupaswala will be taken before the Gampaha Magistrate today.


When the case in connection with the persons who died at the Weliweriya incident was taken before Gampaha Chief Magistrate Tikiri Jayatilaka, the Colombo Crime Division informed the Court that the army was called to the area by the Gampaha SP.
